Cubs Interested in Bringing Back Brandon Morrow After Injury-Riddled Season
By Michael Luciano

The Chicago Cubs are in the need of bullpen help this offseason, as they decided to not pick up a $21 million club option on veteran righty Brandon Morrow, who missed the entire 2019 season with injuries.
Even after striking out the same amount of batters as you and I last season, the Cubs are interested in bringing Morrow back to the team, albeit at either a vastly discounted price or on a minor-league deal.

Quite the fall from grace for one of the men who keyed the Dodgers' run to the World Series in 2017.
Morrow didn't pitch in 2019, but he was almost unhittable during his half-season stint with the Cubs in 2018, posting a 1.47 ERA and saving 22 games. Injuries are once again sapping the effectiveness away from Morrow, a former top prospect who fizzled out in Seattle and Toronto due to the fact he couldn't stay healthy.

Morrow will probably need to take a major pay cut if he wants to come back to Chicago, but he has proven that when healthy, he can be more than trusted to get big outs in the back end of a bullpen.
