Cubs Reportedly Emerge as Trade Suitors for Tigers Slugger Nick Castellanos
As of Sunday, there are 10 days left until the MLB Trade Deadline arrives. Which star players will be on the move to contenders?
Out in Detroit, perhaps no player is wanted more than Nick Castellanos. After smashing a walk-off homer against the Blue Jays, his stock is only going up. And one new team showing plenty of interest is the Chicago Cubs.
According to Tigers insider Chris McCosky, Chicago has indeed emerged as a potential landing spot for the stud outfielder. On the year, the 6-4, 203-pounder is hitting .283, with 10 homers and 35 RBI.
As of this writing, the Cubs hold a 2.5-game lead on the Cardinals in the NL Central. They've surely got dreams of getting back to the World Series on their minds, which is why they'll be busy for the next 10 days. Will Castellanos end up at Wrigley Field?
With the way he's able to swing the lumber, there's no surprise why so many teams out there are interested in his services. We'll have to wait and see who ends up winning the Castellanos lottery.
