Could be better, could be worse.

Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo might not have soothed the minds of Cubbies nation, but he did seem somewhat positive in providing an update on his ongoing back issue.

The three-time All-Star said he hopes he'll only need a "couple days" of treatment before he returns to the lineup.

Rizzo, who was held out of the lineup in Sunday's game against the Brewers due to tightness in his back, is in the midst of a strong start to the season. He's posted a .911 OPS with 10 home runs and 29 runs batted in over his first 169 plate appearances.

Though the Cubs would certainly love to have him back, the lineup is definitely deep enough to get by without him for an additional game or two. David Bote, who essentially filled in for him on Sunday while Kris Bryant manned first base, went 2-for-4 in his absence.

Besides, it's better to let him rest now and get back to full health rather than forcing him to play through something that could balloon into a much bigger issue later in the season.
