The Chicago Cubs will take on the Oakland Athletics for a three-game interleague series. Both teams are firmly in the middle of the wild card or division races.

Athletics Lineup
The slick fielding third baseman, Matt Chapman will bat third for the A's, but only has three hits over the last two weeks. Matt Olson will bat fourth and is hitting .307 on the road compared to .212 at home.
Chris Bassitt is on the mound for the A's and is 7-5 with a 3.84 ERA. He has been one of the A's most consistent pitchers this season and had a solid 3.95 ERA in July.
Cubs Lineup
Newly-acquired outfielder Nicholas Castellanos bats second and has started 5-for-16 with in his Cubs career. Victor Caratini will bat seventh and catch in place of the injured Willson Contreras. Jason Heyward leads off, with Kris Bryant batting third.
The control specialist Kyle Hendricks is on the bump for the Cubs and is 8-8 with a 3.07 ERA this season. He has not allowed a run over his last two starts.
This is the first matchup of the season between these two teams. The Cubs are 6-5 against the AL West and the Athletics are 9-4 against NL Central teams.
