The Chicago Cubs will be in Los Angeles Thursday to take on the Dodgers in the opener of a four-game series. The game features a premium pitching matchup between two perennial Cy Young candidates.

First pitch is scheduled for 10:10 PM ET from Dodger Stadium and will be televised on SNLA and NBCSCH+. The game can also be viewed on the MLB Streams subreddit.

The Cubs are coming off of a 10-1 rout over the Colorado Rockies, while the Dodgers are fresh off a rest day after losing to the Angels on Tuesday.

Cubs Lineup

Kyle Schwarber has taken a liking to his new role in the leadoff spot, as he's batting .310 with an OPS of 1.068 in his last 7 games. He's followed up by the usual suspects; Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo and Javy Báez, who hits in the cleanup spot. Baéz has been a star this season; he's leading the NL in all-star votes at the shortstop position. The rest of the lineup features Willson Contreras, Albert Almora Jr., Addison Russell, Jon Lester and David Bote.

Lester (5-4, 3.56 ERA), a veteran southpaw, will be on the bump Thursday, looking to bounce back after a brutal five-game stretch in which he's allowed 24 runs in just 27 innings pitched. He started off the year on fire, but has since come crashing down to earth.

Dodgers Lineup

The Dodgers potent offense has been led by MVP frontrunner Cody Bellinger, but he's cooled off of late as he's batting just .228 in his last 15 games. Belli is hitting cleanup Thursday. Leading off will be left fielder Enrique Hernández, followed by Big Red and David Freese. Chris Taylor bats fifth and replaces Corey Seager at shortstop, while Max Muncy hits sixth and plays second base. The order is rounded out by Alex Verdugo, Austin Barnes and Clayton Kershaw.

Kershaw (5-1, 3.00 ERA) will take the mound for the Dodgers, coming off a solid 7-inning performance in San Francisco in which he gave up just 2 runs on 6 hits. Kershaw's presence brings a distinct advantage: Los Angeles is 18-1 in his last 19 starts.
