Chicago will hand the ball to rookie right-hander Adbert Alzolay, who in two appearances (one start) owns a 2.08 ERA and has nine strikeouts over 8.2 innings. In his first career start against the Braves, Alzolay went 4.2 innings and allowed just one run on one hit and four strikeouts.

Right-hander Trevor Williams will get the ball in the opening game of this series for Pittsburgh. In 11 starts this season, Williams owns a 2-2 record with a 4.25 ERA and has 53 strikeouts over 65.2 innings. In his last start against the Astros, Williams lasted 6.2 innings and allowed four runs on eight hits and four strikeouts.
