VIDEO: Cubs' Willson Contreras and Brother Figure Out Perfect Quarantine BP Setup
By Dylan McCaffrey
Professional athletes are looking to stay i n shape by any means necessary, but Chicago Cubs All-Star Willson Contreras and his brother William might have just found the best way to do so. While quarantined during the coronavirus outbreak, the Contreras brothers filmed themselves in the midst of a creative batting practice session.
William, a prospect in Atlanta's farm system, was shooting balls with a toy gun at Willson, who was taking hacks in front of the driveway. Even during periods of self-isolation, there are no days off for these two.
Willson has emerged as a star for the Cubs early on in his career, having been selected to back-to-back All-Star games. He posted an .888 OPS last season, crushing 24 homers and driving in 64 RBI in what was his fourth big-league season.
William, on the other hand, is heralded as the No. 9 overall prospect in the Braves farm, though he figures to be a season or two away from making his MLB debut.
While baseball is on hold during the COVID-19 pandemic, players are doing just about anything they can to keep themselves in shape.
