Yu Darvish is no exception, as the Chicago Cubs right-hander showcased some nasty pitches during a recent bullpen session at the organization's Spring Training facility in Arizona.

For any fans wondering why the strikeout rate has skyrocketed in recent seasons, well, look no further than this filthy pitch. A mid-90s splitter that breaks at the last possible second would give opposing batters zero chance at making solid (if any) contact. Lefties would swing out of their respective shoes and righties would get so tied up that they would likely offer a checked swing at for lack of better ideas.
