Dak Prescott's contract negotiations have been ongoing for quite awhile now, and he's gotten a bit cryptic in how he's approaching the situation.

The 25-year-old quarterback fielded questions on his negotiations with the Cowboys all while wearing an actual cowboy hat.

"It happens when it happens. I've got my cowboy hat on, so I'm a Cowboy. Let's say that," said Prescott when asked about the possibility of a new contract.

Dak certainly has a case for a hefty contract. He's 32-16 as the starting quarterback for the Cowboys, has led them to the playoffs twice in three years, and thrown for over 10,000 yards and 67 touchdown passes.

Prescott is entering the final year of his rookie deal. The fourth-year quarterback is slated to earn over $2 million in 2019, but with Russell Wilson's new contract now the benchmark, he's expected to garner a big payday. Whether that's with the Cowboys or somewhere else in free agency remains to be seen.

He's certainly embracing the cowboy mentality in the literal sense, now all that's left for him to do is the same with the actual Cowboys.
