Dak Prescott Responds to Ezekiel Elliott Contract Holdout
By Michael Luciano
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has enough on his plate as it related to his own contract situation, so he isn't risking getting tangled up in Ezekiel Elliott's negotiations.
While Elliott is currently holding out from Cowboys training camp, Prescott has reported despite the fact both are seeking new deals. Dak's response to a question about Zeke didn't throw him under any sort of bus, he did infer that Elliott wants to be out there due to his love for the game.
"Just knowing his love for the game, knowing his love for his teammates, sure,” Prescott said. “But business is business. That’s for him and his team to handle.”
Elliott, who has led the league in rushing in two of the three seasons he has been in the league, is seeking a deal that rivals or tops what the Los Angeles Rams gave to Todd Gurley. Given all the mouths Dallas has to feed, that number could be hard to reach.
One of two things is going to happen. Either the Cowboys will cave in and pay him or Zeke will report without a new deal to avoid a Le'Veon Bell situation. Either way, this could get ugly.
