Dak Prescott Suffered Sprained Index Finger But Cowboys Expect Him to Play Next Week
By Chris Pyo
In the midst of an awful loss on Thursday Night Football to the Bears, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott suffered a couple of injuries, including a sprained right index finger and a sprained left hand.
However, according to coach Jason Garrett, the franchise is expecting Prescott to play through the injuries.
It makes sense as to why Prescott would want to suit up under any circumstances. Not only is his team somehow on top of the NFC East with a losing record, but he's also in line to receive a huge contract extension after this season, as he's scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent.
Questions continue to circulate around Jerry Jones and his dealings with his players and head coach. The same fans and experts questioning why Jones hasn't extended his franchise quarterback's contract are the same prognosticators rightfully asking why he hasn't fired Jason Garrett after another season of mediocrity.
If the Cowboys were even a game over .500, fans and critics would be taking about Prescott in a much higher regard. After all, he's leading the NFL in passing yards with 4,122, third in passing touchdowns with 24, and has the same 72.1 QBR as Russell Wilson, good for third-highest in the league.
But because he's stuck on a Cowboys team that continues to squander opportunities, those numbers are almost meaningless now.
Dak and the Cowboys are set to face off against the Los Angeles Rams on Dec. 15, and he'll be hoping that Aaron Donald doesn't get anywhere close to him.
