Political officials across the nation are beginning to come to the consensus that the resumption of professional sports will be pivotal in reopening the country. As Dallas News contributor Calvin Watkins notes, eight new positive cases of COVID-19 were disclosed in Oxford -- where the Cowboys hold their training camp -- on Monday, which brings the grand total in the city to 142.
The cumulative total in Ventura County now stands at 577, and Dallas should probably start brainstorming a contingency plan if there continues to be an uptick. According to the VC Star, 23 individuals were hospitalized with the virus on Monday, 10 of which were taken to the ICU.
Oxnard and Simi Valley, which has had 158 positive cases, are the cities (which are 30 miles apart) in Ventura County with the highest number of residents that have succumbed to the pandemic.
