Early this morning on Twitter, rumors circulated that Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper had been shot in a parking garage in downtown Dallas.

The Dallas police department had the decency to shut down all of those rumors not even an hour after the original tweet was posted. Not only did they prove that Cooper was not shot, but they didn't have a report of ANY shooting in Dallas at that time.

In other words, the person/people who circulated the original tweet were totally making things up. Simply awful and disheartening.

A source close to Cooper, who is set to cash in with a lucrative deal as a free agent this season after a tremendous 2019 campaign in Dallas, further backed that statement up, by claiming there was "no truth" to rumors he was shot.

If you decided to spend your free time making up stories about anyone, let alone a prominent NFL wide receiver, getting shot, that's just about the lowest thing you can do. At least the rumors were shut down quickly by local law enforcement.
