The Dallas Renegades suffered a brutal 30-12 loss this past Saturday to the New York Guardians. In response to this loss, head coach Bob Stoops shook up his coaching staff.
On Monday, the team revealed that offensive coordinator and innovator of the Air Raid offense Hal Mumme has been reassigned as an offensive advisor, while Jeff Jagodzinski will take over as coordinator.

Hal Mumme is unable to continue his previous responsibilities due to an injury and will remain as an offensive advisor.

The reasoning behind Mumme's reassignment was the infamous incident which saw the longtime coach break his leg after a collision with Renegades running back Cameron Artis-Payne. Even though he suffered the serious injury, Mumme resumed his duties that game and the week after.
After a brutal offensive performance this past weekend, Stoops decided that Mumme's ailment affected his ability to coach up the offense and opted to put him in an advisory role.

As for Jagodzinski, this won't be his first stint as an offensive coordinator. He served in that role with the Green Bay Packers (2006), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2009), and Georgia State University (2013-15). The Packers' offense ranked in the top 10 that year, while Georgia State's passing attack ranked in the top 25 in his final two seasons with the program.
While everyone admired Mumme's toughness, the leg injury was just too much for him to overcome and the Renegades need a new spark while the 67-year-old recovers.
