Dallas Renegades OC Hal Mumme Reportedly Broke His Leg in Sideline Collision

The Dallas Renegades suffered a home loss Sunday to the Houston Roughnecks in a game that also saw starting quarterback Landry Jones go down with an injury after he threw three first-quarter picks.
Well, Jones wasn't the only Renegade to go down with an injury in Sunday's clash. Offensive coordinator Hal Mumme took a hard hit on the sidelines in a collision with RB Cameron Artis-Payne which reportedly left him with a broken leg.

Remarkably, Mumme displayed his "football guy" mentality and remained on the sideline coaching the team until the end of the game, after which it was revealed that he'd broken the leg.
For a 67 year old to take a hit from a 200+ pound running back like Artis-Payne and stick around to coach the rest of the game with a broken leg is nothing short of incredible. He was calling plays for more than two full quarters while severely hobbled.
The @XFLRenegades confirm that OC Hal Mumme broke his leg last night on this collision with Cameron Artis-Payne. That means he spent 2.5 quarters calling plays from the sideline with the injury. @SportsDayDFW pic.twitter.com/S3mg0NgxFh

ProFootballTalk reports that he will be up in the booth calling plays this weekend, allowing him to rest his legs while maintaining his duties as OC. We're willing to wager that Mumme would rather be down on the field.
