Dalvin Cook Has Been Ruled Out for Vikings MNF Matchup Against Packers
By Chris Pyo
The Minnesota Vikings' chances of beating the arch-rival Green Bay Packers this week just took a massive hit.
After giving Vikings fans and fantasy football owners slight hope that he would be suiting up for Monday Night Football, star running back Dalvin Cook has officially been ruled out with a shoulder injury.
That leaves Alexander Mattison, who is questionable himself with an ankle injury, and Mike Boone in the backfield with Kirk Cousins. If Mattison's ruled out as well, Ameer Abdullah will be seeing touches as well throughout the game.
Cook has been one of the most well-rounded running backs in the league this year, tallying 1,135 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns along with 53 receptions.
It's not out of the question that the Vikings choose to sit Cook for Week 17 as well, depending on the severity of his injury. Minnesota needs to either win Monday's game or have the Rams lose to the 49ers in order to lock up a playoff spot.
Nonetheless, they'll have an uphill battle against Green Bay without their best offensive player.
