Damon Harrison Contract Details With Detroit Lions
By Michael Luciano
The Detroit Lions have quickly built one of the most dominant defensive lines in the league. They chose to reward one of the best run-stuffers in football when they inked nose tackle Damon "Snacks" Harrison to a one-year contract extension.
Harrison will sign a one-year, $11 million contract extension with Matt Patricia and the Lions. He'll make $6.75 million in 2019 and $9 million in 2020 as a result of the new money.
Harrison, who skipped the entire offseason program in search of a new contract, is now just outside the Top 10 in interior defensive line salary, tied with Atlanta's Grady Jarrett and just behind Buffalo's Star Lotulelei and Philadelphia's Fletcher Cox.
Harrison recorded 81 tackles and 3.5 sacks in a 2018 season he spent with the Lions and New York Giants. He's now on a loaded Detroit defensive line that includes free agent acquisition Trey Flowers and the dynamic Alabama duo of A'Shawn Robinson and Da'Shawn Hand.
The Lions have quite a few problems to work out, but locking up their big run-stuffer is not one of them.
