Damon Harrison Fuels Cowboys Rumors With Latest Twitter Activity
By Michael Luciano
The Dallas Cowboys retained Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper in free agency, but Jerry Jones is far from done adding pieces to this roster.
Defensive tackle Damon "Snacks" Harrison, who played last season with the Detroit Lions, tweeted the infamous eyeball emoji after it was reported he had spoken with Cowboys executive Stephen Jones and head coach Mike McCarthy. Is he headed to Dallas?!
Harrison lives in Dallas during the offseason, further adding validity to these rumors.
Snacks was a former All-Pro with the New York Giants and star with the New York Jets, but he largely struggled in Detroit. While 49 tackles and two sacks is a solid year for most 350-pound 0-tech lineman, it was a down campaign for Harrison.
The Cowboys were ranked 11th last year in run defense, but the signing of Harrison could be so impactful that Dallas could vault near the top five.
While Mike Nolan's 4-3 defense might be a bit of an odd fit for a guy who has spent the best years of his career as a nose tackle in a 3-4 scheme, Harrison would give the Cowboys one of the best defensive lines in the NFL if he decided to join DeMarcus Lawrence and Gerald McCoy in Dallas.
