Dan Haren and Brandon McCarthy Troll Mark Teixeira After Weird Anti-MLB Player Comments
By Jerry Trotta

Former New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira has been forced to weather a hefty dose of vitriol after he unleashed a shocking viewpoint on the budding financial dispute between owners and players amid MLB's proposal to save the 2020 regular season.
In short, Teixeira sided with the owners and urged players to do whatever is necessary to salvage the campaign...even it that means taking "pennies on the dollar." The former three-time All-Star was expectedly eviscerated by former players, as retired right-hander Dan Haren joined the growing list on Tuesday evening.

Short, sweet and to the point from Haren. There's really no other way to summarize Teixeira's polarizing stance. Insinuating that MLBPA leader Tony Clark should lie down and let the owners walk all over the players is a bizarre stance from a player that once signed a $180 million contract and managed to underproduce for a majority of it.
Former journeyman hurler Brandon McCarthy followed Haren's lead, but decided to put his Twitter fingers to use.
Tex was quite possibly the most pro-union player I came across in my career. A few years ago this would be recognized as an 'under duress' message. https://t.co/ULrUNtUkuI

It's worth noting that McCarthy twice shared a clubhouse with Tex, so him not hesitating to roast his former teammate really says it all about how poorly the five-time Gold Glover's comments have been received. You have to think that Teixeira will continue catching heat from the baseball world in the days to come.
