Dan Quinn Being Fired by Falcons Seems Inevitable
By Ryan Flores
You can't deny the Atlanta Falcons have championship-caliber talent. However, head coach Dan Quinn simply can't find a way to win with what he's got. After Sunday's 24-10 loss against the Tennessee Titans, the Falcons find themselves at 1-3 and are desperately looking for answers.
Quinn is well known for being a defensive-minded coach, yet the Falcons have now allowed a whopping 24.75 points per game. It looks like time is running out for the man who most famously saw his team squander a 28-3 lead on the Patriots in the Super Bowl.
Turnover is never easy. Since that Super Bowl loss, the Falcons have been in a malaise. However, Atlanta could make the transition to a new coach a whole lot easier if they were to hire someone with a strong offensive background.
The Falcons' Super Bowl window is rapidly closing with each fantastic year from Matt Ryan and Julio Jones that passes. With both players in their primes, it would make sense to bring in a coach that could get the most they can out of the dynamic duo for the rest of their football careers. Their best season, after all, was when Kyle Shanahan was running the show during that fateful Super Bowl season.
Throughout Ryan's career, he's only had defensive-minded head coaches, yet he continues to be one of the best quarterbacks in the league. With offensive-minded coaches like Shanahan, Sean McVay and Matt LaFleur all thriving with their respective teams, one would have to wonder what the Falcons would look like with their own offensive guru for a coach.
The Falcons might not be ready to kick Quinn to the curb just yet, but with the way this team is performing, they should most certainly consider it.
