It's long been debated when Conor McGregor will return to the Octagon. Whether that will take place near the end of 2019 or beginning of 2020 remains to be seen, but speaking to TMZ Sports on Wednesday Dana White has officially ruled out a potential clash against Jorge Masvidal following his beatdown of Ben Askren at UFC 239 on July 5.

Sorry, dreamers. Did you really think that the UFC President would actually let Conor fight out of his weight class? Especially when you consider how erratic his behavior has been over the last 12 months? Though nobody would deny how exhilarating the melee would be.
Any swing or pull he had with Dana is longggg gone.
The bottom line is that McGregor already has a list of several potential suitors in his own weight division, as White notes.

What will make MMA junkies drool, however, is the fact that the UFC boss didn't rule out the possibility of McGregor squaring off against the winner of the Khabib Nurmagomedov-Dustin Poirier showdown in Sept.
That would be something.
Nevertheless, Notorious fan boys will just have to wait a little bit longer to find out what fighter looms in the former champ's future.
