Darren McFadden Faces Two Charges from Whataburger Arrest
By Michael Luciano
Former Arkansas superstar and Oakland Raiders and Dallas Cowboys running back Darren McFadden could face jail time after being charged with DUI and resisting arrest following an altercation with police at a Whataburger in Texas in January.
McFadden fell asleep at the wheel in the Whataburger drive-thru. When police arrived on the scene, McFadden is accused of becoming confrontational, and resisting the officers attempts to arrest him. His passenger and driver side windows were smashed as a result.
Since resisting arrest and DUI with a BAC of .15 or higher are considered Class A misdemeanors, McFadden could face up to two years in jail or fines of up to $8,000 if he is found guilty.
A legendary running back in college who won the Doak Walker award twice and finished as the runner-up for the Heisman in consecutive years, McFadden was selected fourth overall in the 2008 draft by the Raiders. With Oakland and the Cowboys, McFadden piled up 5,421 yards and 28 touchdowns. McFadden had two seasons of over 1,000 yards rushing.
McFadden might have carved out a solid career in the NFL, but his latest actions could leave him facing some serious repercussions.
