Darren Woodson Blasts Idea Dak Prescott Should Take Less Money From Cowboys in Extension Talks

While Jerry Jones and Co. are focused on the NFL Combine this week, you know they haven't forgotten about what's going on with franchise quarterback Dak Prescott.
With the two sides in a stalemate during contract extension negotiations, many have come out and said Prescott should take a discounted deal to help out the team. While Emmitt Smith backed this idea, the opposite can be said for fellow Dallas legend Darren Woodson.

In an interview with the Star-Telegram, Woodson went on to say it's a slap in the face to think Prescott should accept a smaller deal from Jones. He didn't stop there.
“This is a capitalistic society," Woodson said, via the Star-Telegram. "This is America. Why does he have to take less money? We are not expecting others to take less money. We didn’t ask Carson Wentz to take less money. Why should Dak be the guy to take less money?”
"Emmitt Smith is pocket-watching. Dak Prescott is a business and it's not his job to worry about the salary cap. Dak would be a damn fool to give Jerry Jones, who's worth that kind of money, a discount."@ShannonSharpe on Emmitt Smith suggesting Dak take a discount pic.twitter.com/vFfuR0qkEU

Teams can place the franchise tag on players starting Feb. 25, with the window closing on March 10. It goes without saying, but the Cowboys would like to get things figured out before then.
If not, and they decide to use the tag on Prescott (while also staring Amari Cooper trouble in the face), all eyes will be on a potential holdout leading up to camp.
