Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams has high praise for a young teammate who only recently appeared on the scene. Adams believes that rookie safety Darnell Savage was a "steal" for the Pack, who drafted the former Maryland star just two months ago.

Trading up for the 21st overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Green Bay sent two fourth-round picks to the Seattle Seahawks to get their man. Savage is looking like a smart choice for a team that sincerely needs help on the back end of their defense.

Adams' praise of Savage came as the team's offseason program was coming to end. "He's going to be that guy, I can tell," Adams told Jason Wilde of the Wisconsin State Journal. "He plays like a vet, he knows how to practice, and he's smart man,"

The former Fresno State Bulldog, about to enter his sixth season with the Packers, also took to Instagram to shout out the rookie.

"The boy gonna be special," Adams commented on IG.

Time will tell what Darnell Savage brings to the Green Bay defense and whether or not he'll be with the team for a long time like Adams thinks he will. In any case, the Packers did in fact get a steal taking Savage at No. 21, who was the second-ranked player at his position coming into the draft according to a wide range of analysts.
