Davante Adams Not Practicing Yet This Week is a Bad Sign for Packers' Week 5 Matchup vs Cowboys
By Michael Luciano
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams has managed to earn both the trust and respect of Aaron Rodgers, which gives Adams a hefty share of targets against the best teams in the league. And, there's no denying he's one of the best wideouts in the game.
However, Rodgers could be without his safety blanket for this week's battle against the Dallas Cowboys, as Adams has not practiced this week due to turf toe.
Turf toe, a sprain of the ligaments in the big toe, can normally sideline players for up to a month, so Adams would be rushing back from this injury.
Adams, who had his first 1,000-yard season last year and is on pace for another this year, will be most missed in the red zone and on third down.
Already down Adams and Equanimeous St. Brown, expect a bump in targets for Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Geronimo Allison, and Allen Lazard if the Fresno State product is unable to go.
Byron Jones has to be thanking the football Gods that he'll either get matched up with an inferior wide receiver or Adams playing on one foot. How the Packers potentially play without Adams could determine the outcome of this game.
