Davante Adams Makes Powerful Statements About Ongoing Violence Across America

This past week has been filled with protests and violence across the country in response to the death of George Floyd. Curfews are in effect in major cities, and it is a flashpoint in recent American history, by any metric.
Many professional athletes have shared their thoughts on Floyd's death and the ongoing violence sweeping the streets between citizens and police officers. In an effort to send a message, Green Bay Packers receiver Davante Adams posted several tweets sharing his thoughts on Sunday afternoon.
Not every response to this continued injustice and racism has been 100% positive and productive...but until my people stop being murdered by those paid to protect and serve for simply being black I’m focused on that.

Black athletes who speak out are bound to face ignorance and racism in their replies, and this is clear when looking through Adams' mentions. But he continued on anyway, and is using his platform to shed even more light on the problems in the country that need to be fixed.
Additionally, the receiver shared a tweet from a private account that features video of peaceful protestors being treated terribly by police.
This wont get played as much but this is sickening. This is how they respond to peaceful protest. I saw a kid get pepper sprayed...we gotta be better!! https://t.co/7EH8aUy9lA

It shouldn't be controversial to talk about innocent people being killed by police officers, yet here we are in 2020. Adams is right to speak his mind, and joins other prominent athletes in realizing that this societal issue is bigger than sports and requires the attention of each and every person in the country.
We fighting a war that I’m not sure we will ever come out ontop of but I know I and hopefully everybody with the right mindset will keep fighting for equality. I’m optimistic things will be better one day. Constantly praying for it ✊?✊?✊???

Adams ends with a message of hope, and that is all a lot of us can do right now. We all have to work to make sure the country is safe for every citizen, regardless of race or any other factor.
