Davante Adams Ruled Out for Packers-Cowboys Week 5 Battle
By Michael Luciano
Turf toe is a much more serious injury than it sounds for a wide receiver, as it can sap you of your ability to make quick cuts and plant your feet in the ground.
Packers wide receiver Davante Adams, who suffered his toe injury in a Thursday Night game against the Philadelphia Eagles last week, isn't feeling 100 percent, and will sit out Green Bay's massive Week 5 game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Adams had really flourished as the go-to option in Matt LaFleur's offense to this point, piling up 378 yards in his first four games, including 180 against a patchwork Philadelphia Eagles secondary.
With Adams on the shelf, expect tight end Jimmy Graham to have an expanded role in the passing game, along with deep threats Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Geronimo Allison.
The last time Aaron Rodgers came to Jerry World, he found Adams in the corner of the end zone to cap off a late comeback. In those pressure situations, Rodgers will have to improvise or rely on some backups instead of his preferred option in Adams.
