VIDEO: Dave Chappelle Was Chucking up Bricks at Lakers Practice on Monday
Iconic comedian Dave Chappelle was in Staples Center Monday, putting up jump shots and passing words of advice on to the current leaders of the Western Conference. The legend had some inconsistent form from behind the line, but the Lakers were more interested in the mindset of the D.C. native. The comedy legend was able to speak to the players on an individual basis, including LeBron James.
The Lakers have been bringing in notable figures from many walks of life recently in what is called the "genius series." The idea is that the Lakers are being given a peak at what it takes to be great from a variety of sources. Chappelle seemed to be a favorite, with a number of Laker players and coaches having conversations or offering handshakes.
Whatever the Lakers are doing, it's working for the organization. The Lakers are 11-2, with a one game lead over the Houston Rockets in the Western Conference. Perhaps the legends are rubbing off on the team. Or, more logically, maybe having LeBron James and Anthony Davis on a team together results in wins.
