Washington Nationals skipper Dave Martinez stunned baseball fans across the country when he brought in starter Patrick Corbin to work through one inning of Game 1 of the World Series.

Corbin was initially penciled in to take the mound in Game 3 on Friday, but he was obviously forced to be pushed back a few days after his unexpected cameo.

Well, Martinez thoroughly believes that his stud southpaw will be ready to go by Saturday as he just tabbed Corbin the starter for Game 4. Of course, it was already disclosed that right-hander Anibal Sanchez would get the nod Friday night.

Nobody really expected that Martinez would even consider brining Max Scherzer back on short rest, especially after his gutsy and laborious outing in Game 1, but this news has swiftly squandered any potential buzz of that possibility.

As for Corbin, he'll be looking to right the ship as he has struggled significantly in October thus far. In six appearances (two starts), the two-time All-Star has conceded a whopping 11 earned runs across 14.1 innings, figures that equate to a sour 6.91 ERA, while uncharacteristically walking 10 batters.

The pressure is certainly on for the 30-year-old left-hander, but he'll have have the backing of some 41,000 boisterous fans at Nationals Park to guide him through the adversity of a Houston Astros lineup desperate for a win.
