Dave Roberts Reveals Where Mookie Betts Will Bat in Dodgers Lineup
On Monday, the Mookie Betts trade was finally completed. While the Dodgers had to ship out multiple prospects to the Boston Red Sox for Betts, the team is clearly in win-now mode, and this trade should only benefit them. It seems as though the team has already found a place for Betts, even though he officially has been a part of the team for a mere two days.
The Dodgers' manager Dave Roberts has already decided that Betts will bat leadoff for this dangerous squad, adding a lethal hitter to the top of the order.
Betts is also expected to be the Dodgers' right fielder, with Dave Roberts saying he prefers to utilize Cody Bellinger in center field.
The 27 year old joins what was already one of the best lineups in baseball, one which helped lock down an MLB-best 106 wins in 2019. With the addition of Betts, the team could wind up surpassing that mark in 2020.
The Dodgers' projected lineup after acquiring Betts will give pitchers nightmares, especially those in the NL West who will be forced to face the squad multiple times per season.
