VIDEO: David Ortiz Calls Mike Fiers a ‘Snitch’ for Blowing Whistle on Astros’ Sign-Stealing Scandal
By Scott Rogust

In the wake of the Houston Astros sign-stealing scandal, there has been a heap of praise for the whistleblower who brought this controversy to light: Oakland Athletics pitcher Mike Fiers. Well, one individual isn't too fond of Fiers' actions. And no, it's not Jessica Mendoza. Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz blasted Fiers for not complaining about the electronic sign-stealing as it was going on during the 2017 season.

Big Papi is big mad.
What Ortiz is saying isn't new. While Fiers has been viewed as a hero, there was skepticism why he wouldn't talk out about this during their World Series-winning campaign.
Even so, there have been plenty of players to bring their concerns regarding the Astros cheating via electronic methods to MLB commissioner Rob Manfred. However, Manfred stressed over the past three seasons that they've looked into the numerous complaints and found no wrongdoing.
David Ortiz: “I’m mad at this guy, the pitcher (Mike Fiers) that came out talking about it. Now that you made your money, you get your ring. Now you want to talk about it? Why don’t you talk about it during the season, when it was happening.”

All it took was for Fiers to talk with The Athletic, which released the bombshell report, for the league to open an investigation.
While it happened two years after the fact, it's honestly better late than never, so Ortiz shouldn't really be upset about a journeyman pitcher "getting his money and ring."
