David Ortiz Moved Out of ICU at Massachusetts General
By Parker White

It's been a long road for Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz, who was shot in the Dominican Republic a few weeks ago.
He was airlifted to Boston to receive further treatment, and then underwent exploratory surgery once he arrived. That was no small thing, as there was damage found to several organs, but according to his wife, Tiffany, Ortiz has good news to report: he's been moved out of the ICU at Massachusetts General.

This doesn't mean Ortiz is completely done with his recovery, of course, as he's still receiving care from Dr. David King and Dr. Larry Ronan. However, it does mean that Ortiz is in much better condition, and is moving in a positive direction in his road to recovery.

It's still unclear when Ortiz will be released from the hospital, but this is a very encouraging sign.
Why this happened is still a mystery. Authorities down in the DR said this was a case of mistaken identity and Ortiz was not the target, but that narrative has since been disputed. Whatever the case, Ortiz's health is most important at this juncture by a long shot.
