David Wells Shares Photo From Memorial Service for Don Larsen

This decade has gotten off to a poor start for the world of sports. We have witnessed the final days of cherished legends such as David Stern, Kobe Bryant and the famous Yankee, Don Larsen.
Larsen's memorial service was held on Saturday and among those in attendance was former Blue Jays and Yankees left handed pitcher David Wells.
David Wells shared a picture of the service that honored the late Larsen to the world. Flowers and a canvas of the right-hander can be seen to tribute the Yankee legend. Wells also captioned the photo with a simple yet emotional, "RIP my friend."
Larsen is most famous for throwing a perfect game against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 5 of the 1956 World Series. To this day, Larsen remains the only pitcher to throw a perfect game in the Fall Classic.
The next player to pitch a perfect game while wearing Yankees pinstripes was none other than Wells himself, who retired all 27 batters he faced against the Minnesota Twins on May 17th 1998.
Wells and Larsen are among three men to accomplish this feat as a New York Yankee. Just by looking at Wells' post, it is easy to see how much Larsen meant to him.
