DeAndre Hopkins Calls for Changes in NFL Office Following Blatant Missed Pass Interference Call
By Michael Luciano
The Houston Texans had very few scoring chances against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, but their best one probably should have given them the ball on the one-yard line. DeAndre Hopkins was grabbed three times by Ravens corner Marlon Humphrey on one play, but was not given pass interference on any of them, even after a "review" process.
Following the game, Hopkins lashed out at the refs on Twitter, pretty directly saying that Al Riveron needs to go.
Yeah, let's get some new eyes on this.
There is no possible way in the world you can argue that Hopkins was not interfered with, as Humphrey grabbed him in three separate places in the span of two seconds. The only explanation for why this wasn't overturned is that the referees do not want to admit they got a call wrong, especially when it's so obvious.
Hopkins might have a hefty fine coming, but someone needed to have the intestinal fortitude to say this.
Hopkins is not the first receiver to not be awarded PI in a close game on a controversial call, and he won't be the last. Hope you're happy, Saints fans! The refs are now ruining games in abject refusal of following the statute you helped produce! It feels bad.
