DeAndre Hopkins Takes Shot at Former Texans QB Brock Osweiler in Latest Instagram Live
By Jerry Trotta
DeAndre Hopkins insists he holds no resentment for the Houston Texans and former head coach Bill O'Brien, but his latest comments prove that was a PR stunt to make his move to Arizona as placid as possible.
The new Arizona Cardinals star threw massive shade at the Texans and quarterback Brock Osweiler during an Instagram Live on Friday night. In a neat twist, Hopkins' quote is as true as it is bitter.
If only we know what Hopkins was thinking when the Texans dolled out a monster four-year, $72 million extension to Osweiler back in 2016. We're honestly flabbergasted that the All-Pro wide receiver lasted as long as he did in Houston.
In 15 games with Osweiler as his quarterback, Hopkins registered 78 receptions for 954 yards and four touchdowns. If you remember how much of a disaster the Arizona State product was as an NFL quarterback, Nuk's numbers are mind-boggling, and they predictably improved with then-rookie Deshaun Watson under center in 2017.
Hopkins' dig at Osweiler and the Texans further passes on the conception that he's thrilled to be free of the organization's ineptitude.
