DeAndre Hopkins Has Perfect Twitter Reaction After Texans Traded Him to the Cardinals
By Jerry Trotta
It truly wouldn't be NFL free agency without a blockbuster move to kickoff proceedings.
Almost immediately after the legal tampering period got underway at noon on Monday, it was reported that the Houston Texans struck a mind-rattling deal to send superstar wideout DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for oft-injured running back David Johnson.
There were also a slew of picks included in the trade, but the real story here is that the Texans got fleeced. As for Hopkins, well, he took to Twitter to articulate how thrilled he is to be free of Houston's ineptitude.
This is hardly a surprising reaction from Nuk.
With Bill O'Brien now overseeing general manager operations, the Texans are simply destined for mediocrity. No player, let alone one of Hopkins' caliber, would want to be hamstrung by that.
ESPN insider Dianna Russini reported moments after the bombshell trade that after covering a handful of Texans games she had long viewed that the relationship between O'Brien and Hopkins was strained.
Hopkins' post on Twitter all but confirms that to be the case. He may not be playing with as talented of a quarterback in Arizona, but Kyler Murray is a budding star. More importantly, he will no longer be forced to witness first hand O'Brien running the Texans into the ground.
