Deion Sanders Calling Out Weird Football Drills Feels Like a Direct Shot at Jameis Winston
By Michael Luciano

There is nothing that gets a football coach or former player fired up more than watching recruiting camp videos of nonsensical drills that might look cool, but do little to help the participants get better at football.
Hall-of-Fame cornerback Deion Sanders has had enough of these drills that are meant to get retweets rather than help players tune their skills, as he claims that the only drills worth doing are drills that trainers or coaches can prove translate to improved play on the field.
Athletes please stop doing all these crazy drills that don’t apply to your game. A trainer or coach should be able to show u how this translates to your game. If he or she can’t stop the madness now. I’m tired of folks robbing y’all & with fancy drills that don’t translate. TRUTH

This seems like a shot at New Orleans Saints quarterback and former Florida State star Jameis Winston.
From a drill that saw him ducking under a punching bag to one that involved him swinging a fungo bat to supposedly help his lower body and leg drive, Sanders might be subtly hinting that Winston needs to remove these from his routine.

Trying to look cool on Instagram is all well and good, but some of the drills Winston and others have put on social media look like they have minimal, if any, practical use that helps a player improve. Sanders is right to call out this nonsense, which is more performing art than legit drill.
