Westbrook is from Long Beach and went to UCLA while DeRozan grew up and went to high school right in Compton before playing at USC. They are both prominent figures in the area to this day and it is a powerful and inspiring sight to see them both taking part in the protests.

Westbrook and DeRozan have joined the likes of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Enes Kanter, Jaylen Brown, Damian Lillard, and many others in getting out into the streets and protesting police brutality and racial inequality toward African-Americans. Their voices carry weight and showing up to support the movement says a lot about who they are as people.
