DeMarcus Cousins' Latest Instagram Story Leaves Questions About His Future in Golden State
The Golden State Warriors ended the 2018-19 NBA season in defeat and uncertainty. Along with losing the NBA Championship, the organization knows they will be without Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson for at least the next season due to a pair of devastating injuries, and possibly for the foreseeable future due to free agency. Now, it seems the Warriors may have a bit more to worry about.
Recently, DeMarcus Cousins posted a quick message on his Instagram story that may have hinted about a possible change in scenery for the big man.
Cousins never states for certain that he is unhappy with the Warriors or that he wants to leave, but his last line hints at the possibility of him leaving the organization.
"I'm at ya necks next season," Cousins wrote, in what seemed like the big man hinting that he would not be returning to The Bay next season.
The disappointing end to the Warriors season leaves a lot of uncertainty with Cousins, especially given his cheap $5.3 million contract is expiring and the idea that next year he will be in his full healthy form.
The Warriors have a lot of moving parts to lock down this offseason, and with the injuries to Thompson and Durant, they face a difficult decision with Cousins' future.
Cousins is set to enter his 11th year in the league, and the 28-year-old will likely be searching for a lucrative deal, considering the pay-cut he took this season in Golden State.
