Derrius Guice to Reportedly Miss Time With Knee Injury
By Mark Powell

Paging Adrian Peterson.
2019 was finally supposed to Derrius Guice's moment, with the former LSU Tiger scheduled to take over as the Redskins primary bell-cow in an offense which desperately needs an identity. Instead, Guice looked incredibly human to the tune of just 18 yards on 10 carries against the Eagles, and might've suffered a serious injury to boot.
Sources: #Redskins RB Derrius Guice had an MRI this morning on the other, non-ACL knee and he’s likely to miss some time. The hope is he does not need surgery, but the team is doing a full evaluation. He gained 18 yards on 10 carries, looking like he wasn’t himself.

Guice's injury could prove even worse once the MRI results are revealed, but at the very least this is another setback for a player who has had trouble staying on the field for a litany of reasons, and an injury to his knee is just the latest on a laundry list of exhausting issues.
As for the veteran Peterson, the former rushing champ was inactive against Philly on Sunday, but will surely be called upon now that the Skins are shorthanded at the position.
Congratulations to Adrian Peterson. https://t.co/EPCr1aUYs8

Guice is week-to-week at this point, giving the 34-year-old another opportunity to prove he's still capable of performing at an elite level.
