DeSean Jackson Has Solution to Improve Fan Experience if NFL is Forced to Play in Empty Stadiums
By Michael Luciano
Despite the best wishes of some optimistic politicians, it seems likely that the 2020 NFL season will be played without fans in the stands due to the coronavirus pandemic. Networks will likely compensate by piping in crowd noise to simulate a normal game day at for the viewer at home.
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson has a pretty unique take on how to improve games without fans, as he wants every player mic'd up to give fans a peek behind the curtain at what normally goes on during an NFL game.
Hearing quarterbacks yell at receivers that lineup in the wrong spot or defeated sighs whenever a throw is off line is entertainment we can all get behind.
The XFL had several players and coaches mic'd up, with interviews on the sideline during games. While some f-bombs did indeed fly, the experiment was considered a complete success given the raw, unfiltered reactions.
As long as the networks manage to find some way to bleep out the thousands of swear words that would fly out on any given NFL game day, Jackson's bright idea could help fans see a totally different side of their favorite players.
