DeSean Jackson's Mom Sends Love to Ezekiel Elliott Following COVID-19 Diagnosis
By Jerry Trotta
On Monday morning, several players on the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texas were confirmed to have tested positive for the coronavirus. Strangely enough, the only player named was running back Ezekiel Elliott, who responded by slamming sports media for leaking his diagnosis.
Elliott is said to be recovering well, but it goes without saying that this is a concerning development for the NFL and the state of Texas as a whole. We certainly send our support to Elliott and the rest of the players that contracted COVID-19, and DeSean Jackson's mother did the same on Twitter after catching wind of the news.
It may only feature a single emoji, but this was a really awesome gesture from Jackson's mom, who clearly understands that this goes beyond football. On the gridiron, the Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver and Cowboys star are all business. Off the field, they hold a mutual respect for each other, and that's the way it should be, especially taking something as serious as the coronavirus into consideration.
Once Elliott sorts out how his test results were leaked, he should really take the time to pen a thank you to Jackson's mom on Twitter. We get that she didn't go above and beyond, but sending love his way is surely plenty more than most Eagles supporters can say they did after learning of his diagnosis.
