Dexter Fowler's Mother's Day Instagram Caption is Extremely Awkward
By Michael Luciano
Most Mother's Day posts fall into one of two categories, as they usually opt for either nauseating or sneakily funny. St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Dexter Fowler's Mother's Day post honoring his wife Darya, however, bucks that trend by just being downright odd.
Rather than speak at length about what his wife has meant to him as a partner and mother, Fowler just asked for some more kids in a pretty direct fashion.
Works for them, I guess? Not exactly sweeping her off her feet in the most romantic fashion possible, but I guess it gets the job done if she's in on the joke.
Fowler, who hit .238 with a career-high 19 home runs with the Cardinals during the 2019 season, might need to explain his actions at some point today.
Luckily for all the regular ladies and gentleman out there, Fowler gave us the least sentimental Mother's Day post of all-time. The bar has now been set so low that anything anyone else does will be considered an improvement and more sincere. Thanks, Dex!
