Dez Bryant Boldly Takes Jab at Jason Garrett After Ex-Coach's Dismissal From Cowboys
By Scott Rogust
The dismissal of Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett was long-expected, but moved at a snail's pace. After seven grueling days, owner Jerry Jones decided halftime of the Philadelphia Eagles' playoff game was the right time to announce Garrett's departure.
Cowboys fans weren't the only ones to take joy in the news. In fact, a former wideout reacted similarly.
Dez Bryant took to Twitter on Sunday evening to say he has "no sympathy" for Garrett. In fact, Bryant said the Cowboys have instantly become contenders with Garrett officially out of Dallas.
This tweet from Bryant shouldn't come as a surprise. The ex-Cowboys receiver always had beef with Garrett, ever since he was released back in 2018.
Bryant was extremely vocal this season after watching a Cowboys team with so much elite talent on both sides of the ball continue to shoot themselves in the foot. Let's be real, here. Anyone with two eyes can see that the catalyst for the Cowboys' failures this season was Garrett. From decision making to play-calling, Dallas was a disaster when it mattered.
The Cowboys opted to mercifully end the suffering of the public by firing Garrett, which ironically came a day after Jones interviewed ex-NFL head coaches in Mike McCarthy and Marvin Lewis.
While the Dallas Cowboys organization was appreciative of Jason Garrett's contributions throughout the better part of 20 years, Dez Bryant is figuratively slamming the door in Garrett's face.
