Dez Bryant Looks Dumb for Tweet About Cowboys Signing Andy Dalton

Teams that need a starting quarterback or veteran high-end backup saw one of their best options go by the wayside when former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback and Texas native Andy Dalton returned to the Lone Star State and signed a one-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys to be Dak Prescott's backup.
Dez Bryant seems to think that Dalton, who signed a $3 million deal, is actually going to compete with Dak for the starting job, and he called the move "disrespectful."
Nothing against Andy dalton because I think he’s a great player..but the cowboys are extremely out of line... Pay Dak... I watched the cowboys pay Tony Twice once without a winning rec... I guess the cowboys viewing the QB position a plug in piece because of the dominant offense

Dalton, fresh off a year in which he threw 16 touchdowns against 14 interceptions, is a much more experienced and proficient passer than Cooper Rush, Dak's backup over the last two seasons. Even with his pedigree, he is not going to push a guy in-line for a $30 million per season contract for a starting job.
According to NFL.com's Tom Pelissero, the signing of Dalton and Dak not signing the franchise tender has "zero" to do with one another, which should debunk all of Dez's theories.
How much does the Andy Dalton signing have to do with Dak Prescott’s unsigned franchise tender?

Said one source: “Zero.”
The #Cowboys think Dalton will be great for the QB room. Not often a QB like that is available in May.
The "Pay Dak" discussion is still ongoing, as the Cowboys have yet to really finger his true value as a quarterback. Unfortunately for Dez and his tin foil hat conspiracies, the Dalton signing doesn't change the fact that the Cowboys are committed to Dak for the long haul. They singed Dalton to be the backup, not the starter and his presence in Dallas will not impact Prescott's contract or starting position one big.
