Dez Bryant Reveals Plans to 'Reach Out' to Teams in 2 Weeks in Hopes of NFL Return
By Jerry Trotta
Other than the occasional Twitter explosion, we haven't heard much of Dez Bryant in recent months.
In regards to playing in the NFL again, the three-time Pro Bowler has changed his mind on numerous occasions. Back in September, Bryant asserted that he was eyeing a return in October, after previously stating that he didn't intend on playing again.
Well, October came and went, and on Wednesday evening, Dez took to Twitter to profess his new and improved plan to reach out to teams within two weeks. Don't worry, folks, Bryant is apparently aware that he won't start on any team willing to take a chance on him.
The free agent wideout, now 31-years-old, signed with the New Orleans Saints last season, but, in true gut-wrenching fashion, he tore his Achilles in his first practice with the team.
The injury comes with with an expected recovery timetable of eight-months, and Bryant has recently posted several workout videos to convey his return to full strength.
Teams likely weren't going to sign him within that time frame, but perhaps feelings towards Dez's health are more optimistic around the league now that he's almost a full year removed from the injury.
We don't have to tell you that there are franchises out there that are desperate for help at the WR position, and given the current free agent market, signing the Oklahoma State product isn't at all farfetched.
