By Michael Luciano

While Klay Thompson was winning championships with the Golden State Warriors, Trayce Thompson was riding the bus to various Triple-A stadiums in an attempt to get back into the MLB.
His next stop will be in Reno, Nev., as the Arizona Diamondbacks agreed to a minor-league deal with the former Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder.

Thompson's MLB career got off to a hot start in 2016, when he hit 13 home runs in 80 games for the Dodgers. After only hitting .122 in 2017, he bounced around several minor league and MLB teams and brief stints with the Oakland A's and Chicago White Sox were the highlights of his 2018 season.
Thompson is just a .206 hitter, but he's worth a lottery ticket flier for a team that is looking for some extra power.

Thompson faces some long odds as he tries to find some way to latch onto an MLB roster, but he's continuing to put the time in to work his way back to the bigs. With his pop, he could make it to the majors in 2020.
