Didi Gregorius and Yankees Hit by Swarm of Bees at Stadium on Monday
By Michael Luciano

AL East pitchers don't seem too keen on stopping the New York Yankees lately, so it looks like the local wildlife has decided to step in and stop the Bronx Bombers.
Before the Yankees were set for a light workout on their day off, Didi Gregorius and the rest of the team were greeted with a swarm of bees at Monument Park.
Apparently a large group (flock? pack?) of bees had taken up residence near the #Yankees dugout and they have now fled to center field.

Cue your Nicolas Cage in The Wicker Man jokes.
The Yankees shortstop turned amateur beekeeper in an attempt to shoo the bees away, but eventually the professionals arrived, the insects were disposed of, and all returned to normal.
The beekeeper has left the field, but there are still several people standing out there on their phones.....Gregorius is safely back by the #Yankees dugout

Once Mother Nature had been dealt with, Luis Severino and Dellin Betances could resume playing catch in an attempt for both of them to work their way back than injuries. This sight has to be a more welcome sight for Yankees fans than an infestation of bees.

We've seen bee infestations in the MLB before--games have even been delayed for this very reason--but we've never witnessed wildlife take over 161 River Avenue like this.
