The narrative surrounding Dion Waiters in 2019 has been nothing short of ludicrous. But, now this?

It all started back in October when he was suspended for the Heat's regular season-opener. Then, in early November, Waiters was rushed to a local hospital after suffering a seizure on the team plane following the consumption of marijuana edibles.

Fast forward to last week, and the seven-year veteran managed to get himself suspended for the third time in two months. This time, according to a statement from the Heat, he failed "to adhere to team policies, violation of team rules and continued insubordination."

That outline was alarmingly vague, but we now have some closure into the reasoning behind his moratorium.

Per CBS Sports, Waiters apparently declared himself too sick to practice and was later caught posting a series of photos on Instagram of him gallivanting on a boat that same day.

No, that was not a misprint. This is somehow a storyline pertaining to a professional athlete, who clearly has his priorities all sorts of knotted and twisted. I mean, come on, man.

The posts have since been deleted and Waiters' Instagram account has since been made private.

Waiters clearly has no future with the Heat and finding a trade partner after his antics will be nearly impossible. Perhaps Miami's most viable option lies in buying out the remaining $24.8 million of his contract. Sheesh.
