Dodgers and Giants Reportedly Wouldn't Rule Out Making Will Smith Trade
By Adam Weinrib

Lefty reliever/"proven closer" Will Smith will likely be garnering the maximum amount of interest at the July 31 trade deadline.
And if you thought the Dodgers and Giants would be deterred by their rivalry from consummating a swap, you might not be right.
Per a report, the teams have at least entertained the idea of Smith suiting up in Dodger Blue, which would be their first interaction on the trade market since 2007.
#Dodgers, #SFGiants aren’t ruling out the prospect of making a Will Smith trade, source says. The rivals haven’t paired up on a deal since @Sweendog9 to L.A. for Travis Denker in 2007. @MLB @MLBNetwork

Travis Denker mention. Take a shot!
Smith has whiffed 47 in 31.1 innings pitched this year, racking up 20 saves for a team that simply doesn't win games very often (but when they do win 'em, they win 'em close; thanks, offense!). He'd be a major get for any ball club, especially a team trying to get over the hump of consecutive World Series losses.
But, he'll cost more than your average Denker. Gun to my head, I wouldn't expect the LAD to be the ultimate destination with so many teams involved in the scrum.
And, of course, the Dodgers already have a Will Smith.
.@Dodgers @will_smith30 on if he thought his hit was going to be a home run: "No. I thought I hit it pretty good and it just kind of got it up in the air and it kept going. Luckily it got out and we won the game."(?@PetrosAndMoney) https://t.co/WkG5StUmz5

But, if they want to keep walking on (Bel) air, they might add another.
